Dr. Raghad Ebied

Professor

Dr. Raghad Ebied holds a Ph.D. in Education from Western University, specializing in Critical Policy, Equity, and Leadership Studies. With over fifteen years of experience as an educator, researcher, and consultant, she is a Contract Teaching Faculty and Research Fellow at Wilfrid Laurier University and has worked extensively with schools, universities, research centers, and community organizations in Canada and the Middle East. Her work centers on compassionate, resilience-based approaches to supporting diverse learners and communities, particularly newcomer and refugee students’ holistic well-being, equity, and belonging. A certified intercultural competence trainer and Ontario Certified Teacher, Dr. Raghad Ebied has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, authored chapters on compassionate educational leadership and refugee student support, and presented her research at national and international conferences. She has also served as a research director, overseeing projects on equity and well-being for Muslims and visible minorities in Canada, and continues to advance scholarship that strengthens inclusive and compassionate educational environments which promote individual and collective well-being. She is an ongoing student of classical Islamic education with Muslim scholars and teachers, focusing on Quranic studies, Tafseer and Tadabbur (exegesis and reflection on the Quran), and has been involved with faith based teaching and mentoring, including delivering spiritual development and Engaging Holistically with the Quran programs, to youth, women, university students and educators.
