Accreditation & Recognition
Accreditation
The Canadian Islamic College (CIC) is proud to offer an accredited academic program that meets rigorous provincial and national quality standards in higher education.
Recognition by the Province of Ontario
CIC’s Honours Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies has been reviewed and approved through the formal quality assurance process of the Government of Ontario. This process is overseen by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, which ensures that degree-granting institutions in the province meet established academic and institutional standards.
Quality Review by PEQAB
As part of the degree approval process, CIC underwent a comprehensive assessment by the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB), an arms-length advisory body to the Government of Ontario. PEQAB evaluates proposed degree programs based on strict standards and criteria designed to protect students and uphold public confidence in Ontario’s postsecondary system.
CIC successfully met all PEQAB standards, demonstrating that its academic programs are credible, well-designed, and aligned with provincial expectations for postsecondary education.

Our mission and vision
At the heart of the Canadian Islamic College is the belief that meaningful change in the world begins with transformation within the individual. This principle is expressed in the Qur’anic verse:
إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ" (13:11)"
“Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.” (13:11)
Guided by this understanding, CIC seeks to cultivate graduates who combine intellectual rigor with moral responsibility. The College’s mission is to provide accredited university-level education in Islamic Studies grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah, fostering critical inquiry, ethical formation, and meaningful community contribution.
The College’s vision is to develop principled graduates who embody faith in action and engage Canadian society with integrity, knowledge, and a commitment to the public good.
