COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course " Da'wah Methodology (Islamic Call)" delves into the profound mission of daʿwah, which lies at the core of God's Prophets. Throughout history, these chosen emissaries emerged within their communities, inviting people to worship God exclusively while forsaking the worship of fabricated deities. This course provides students with a comprehensive exploration of the Islamic call, or daʿwah, from the time of Prophet Adam to the era of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them). Students will engage with various topics, including the historical context, methods employed, and objectives pursued during daʿwah across different time periods. They will gain insights into the fundamentals of Islam, as well as the nature, significance, mechanics, and extent of daʿwah. Furthermore, the course covers the art of presenting daʿwah effectively, examining the qualities of a daʿi and drawing inspiration from the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the teachings of the Qurʾan. Exploring both classical (turath) and contemporary sources on daʿwah, students will critically analyze diverse thoughts and ideas. They will also be exposed to an integrated approach that combines Revealed Knowledge and Social Sciences, enabling them to apply daʿwah within the complex framework of modern societies. Emphasis will be placed on fostering tolerance and respect for diverse belief systems. In addition, the course addresses the challenging inquiries often directed toward Islam and Muslims. Students will learn appropriate methods to respond to these inquiries, equipping them with the necessary tools to engage in constructive dialogue. The course unravels the rich history, methods, and contemporary significance of Islamic call, preparing students to become effective agents of positive change within their community and broader society.
